Autonomous RC Car Project

Description

Our project mission is to create a system that drives your vehicle through an indoor course without operator (human) control. The system should leverage control strategies for driving collision avoidance and indoor positioning. Our solution should also provide a real-time data stream including position information that should be displayed on a remote computer console illustrating position information of your vehicle. Finally, our system should also allow a human to take control remotely.

RC car setup

This is the RC car for the project. We fitted an onboard Raspberry Pi and an arduino as the main control unit and data analysis module of the vehicle. Two Lidars, an ultrasonic sensor, a web cam, an encoder, 2 IR receivers are the sensors onboard for data collection.
